Sea Urchin, Crab and Salmon are popular yields of the commercial fishing vessels that are launched by hoist off the Point Arena Pier which was reconstructed in 1983 when a storm destroyed its predecessor.

Sinking Whole is a giant punch bowl in the earth with a pool of water at the bottom. There's a dirt trail that takes you to the sinkhole and it's advised to wear long pants (in case of poison oak). Because it is actively eroding the fence around the hole protects visitors from impending dangers.
This trail is about 0.5 miles long and leads hikers to the awesome Little River Blowhole and beyond to the bluff edge. The Little River Blowhole is actually a punchbowl, or sinkhole, and is an actively eroding area; almost every winter, full-grown trees fall into the abyss.
